We Consulted with Complete Canine for several problems our two dogs were having.

Our 10 year old German Shepherd and our 11 year old Spaniel mix were both becoming more difficult to take for walks. As soon as they saw us go to the drawer where their leashes are kept, the would become lunatics, jumping up and down with excitement and racing back and forth in the house. And the more we tried to calm them down, the more hyper they got! Then, when we actually got their leashes on them, they would pull us out the door and down the street and wouldn't listen to any of our commands. It had gotten to the point where we had just given up walking them and they were full of pent up energy.

They also became very excited when anyone came to the door or began to get ready to leave the house. The would jump up and down and bark  and run back and forth.

Our Spaniel mix also had problems with being overprotective of his toys and generally thinking he is the boss of the house.

We watch all the dog training shows on TV and read a lot of books to try to change our dogs' inappropriate behavior and nothing seemed to be working. I even consulted with a dog trainer in the local area when my Spaniel was younger and was told that he was hopeless and I should have him put down ! So, needless to say, i was very discouraged and apprehensive about consulting with another trainer.

Paula and Dave came to our house and worked with us and our dogs and showed us the "rules" The change in the dogs' behavior after just an hour was amazing! We practice the rules now when we go to the drawer that the leashes are in, the Spaniel generally sits quietly and the Shepherd lies on her bed and waits to be called to the door! It's also not a free-for-all when someone comes to the door or tries to leave the house. They still do need corrections and we need to be consistent with the rules but just after a short time, there is a noticeable difference in our dogs' behavior.

We are practicing our leadership skills to establish that we are the bosses in our house and our dogs are falling into their place as the followers of our rules.  We never realized how stressful it is for the, when we allowed them to be in control.  It's so nice to see our dogs becoming calmer and happier because they don't have to be in charge.

Paula and dave were very knowledgeable about dog behavior. They were calm and assertive with our dogs and have taught us to be that way. We are very pleased with the results we are experiencing so far and would recommend Complete Canine for anyone who has a dog.
